We are looking for an experienced and motivated Category Buyer to join our Head Office team based at Spearwood and play a key role in sourcing products that meet the needs of our customers.

About the Role

As a Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing products, negotiating with suppliers, monitoring market trends, and ensuring our stores are stocked with the right products at competitive prices. You will work closely with suppliers, store operations, and management to maximise sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

- Source and procure products in line with company requirements.

- Negotiate pricing, promotions, and supply agreements with vendors.

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.

- Monitor inventory levels and forecast purchasing requirements.

- Analyse sales data, market trends, and customer demand to optimise product range.

- Identify new product opportunities and emerging market trends.





- Work collaboratively with stores and internal departments to ensure product availability.

- Manage supplier performance and resolve supply issues promptly.

- Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and industry standards.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Previous experience in a Buyer, Purchasing, Procurement, or Category Management role, preferably within the supermarket, retail, or FMCG industry.

- Solid negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

- The ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

- A proactive attitude and a passion for delivering outstanding results.
