The Warehouse Storeperson is responsible for the safe and productive receipt, storage, picking, packing and dispatch of products. The role includes forklift operation, stock control and general warehouse duties, with a strong focus on safety, accuracy and customer service.
Key responsibilities
- Receive incoming deliveries and check goods against purchase orders and delivery documentation.
- Unload and load trucks safely using a forklift and other appropriate material-handling equipment.
- Pick and pack customer orders accurately and within required timeframes.
- Prepare orders for collection, courier and freight dispatch.
- Check product quantities, part numbers and condition before dispatch.
- Put away incoming stock in designated warehouse locations.
- Maintain accurate stock locations and assist with cycle counts and stocktakes.
- Report stock discrepancies, damaged goods and incorrect deliveries promptly.
- Handle pipe, valves, fittings, sprinklers and other fire protection products safely and appropriately.
- Assist customers and transport drivers with warehouse collections and deliveries.
About you
- Current Australian High Risk Work Licence – Forklift (LF).
- Previous warehouse, stores or distribution experience.
- Experience operating a counterbalance forklift safely and confidently.
- Ability to safely handle heavy and bulky products.
- Good attention to detail, particularly when picking and checking orders.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to use inventory/warehouse systems.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work with limited supervision.
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Capable of safely lifting and moving warehouse products within company manual-handling procedures and using mechanical aids where appropriate.
Experience within the fire protection, plumbing, mechanical services, construction or industrial distribution sectors would be advantageous. Familiarity with pipe, valves, fittings, grooved products and sprinkler equipment would also be beneficial.
