As a Food Safety Auditor, you will focus on conducting audits and assessments to ensure compliance with food safety standards. This role within the business services the food industry based in Victoria and offers an opportunity to make a tangible impact in Food and Beverage operations.

Client Details

Our client is a leading provider of assurance, testing, inspection and certification services, supporting organisations across the food supply chain to achieve and maintain globally recognised food safety standards. Their Food Safety team plays a critical role in delivering independent certification services across a variety of internationally recognised food safety schemes. Auditors are trusted advisors to clients, providing objective assessments while ensuring compliance with accreditation requirements and certification standards.

Description

Reporting to the Operations Manager for Food Safety, you will be responsible for conducting and reporting on third-party food safety audits in accordance with accreditation requirements, certification programs and company procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

- Conducting on-site and remote third-party certification audits.
- Auditing against food safety standards including BRCGS, SQF, FSSC 22000, ISO 22000 and Codex HACCP.
- Collecting, reviewing and verifying objective evidence.
- Identifying non-conformance's and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Preparing high-quality audit reports within required timeframes.
- Reviewing corrective actions and supporting certification decisions.
- Facilitating skilled opening and closing meetings with clients.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.




- Ensuring compliance with accreditation body requirements and certification schemes.
- Participating in witness audits, technical reviews and ongoing competency programs.
- Remaining current with industry regulations, food safety legislation and evolving standards.

This position requires a professional auditor who can balance attention to detail with a commercial understanding of client operations while maintaining the highest levels integrity.

Profile

To be considered for this opportunity, you must be able to demonstrate the following essential qualifications and experience:

- Degree qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Agriculture or a related food discipline.
- Successful completion of Lead Food Safety Auditor Training.
- Formal HACCP Principles and Applications training.
- Current GFSI scheme registration and auditing competency in standards such as BRCGS, SQF and FSSC 22000.
- Proven track record of at least 10 years in food industry Quality roles, with experience spanning five or more food categories.

- Comprehensive audit log demonstrating completed third-party audits.
- Excellent report writing, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong analytical, auditing and decision-making capability.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and travel regularly.
