The Role
We are looking for proactive and engaging Landscape Planner / LVIA Specialist to join our growing team in Newcastle. This is an exciting opportunity for a landscape architect, landscape planner or environmental professional with experience in Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA) to work on some of Australia's most significant renewable energy and infrastructure projects.
You'll work alongside industry-leading specialists delivering visual impact assessments, landscape planning advice and strategic project support across a diverse range of projects. With a solid pipeline of wind, solar, BESS and transport projects, you'll have the opportunity to broaden your skills, build client relationships and develop your career in a supportive and collaborative environment.
This is a permanent full-time position located in Newcastle, offering variety, autonomy and the prospect to be part of a creative, forward-thinking practice of 30 talented people.
What you will do
As part of our team, you will contribute to the delivery of Landscape Visual Impact Assessments from project inception through to planning approval.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Undertaking Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments (LVIAs)
• Assisting with landscape character assessments and visual constraints analysis
• Conducting site visits, fieldwork and photography
• Preparing technical reports and supporting documentation
• Providing input into impact mitigation and landscape planning recommendations
• Liaising with clients, project teams and government stakeholders
Who we are looking for
• Brings 3+ years' experience in landscape architecture, landscape planning, environmental planning or a related field.
• A degree in Landscape Architecture, Landscape Planning, Environmental Planning or a related discipline.
• Experience preparing or contributing to LVIAs, visual impact assessments or landscape character assessments.
• Strong report writing and communication skills, inclusive of high Adobe Creative Suite capability.
• An understanding of Australian planning policy, legislation and environmental assessment processes.
• Highly capable in Windpro, ArcGIS and/or other GIS platforms.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• A collaborative approach and willingness to learn from experienced practitioners
• Brings a positive, practical and collaborative mindset to every day.
