Volley Recruit are currently seeking experienced Civil Plant Operators for a range of ongoing opportunities across subdivision, road infrastructure, drainage, earthworks and Tier 1 civil construction projects throughout Adelaide and surrounding areas.

We are looking for operators with proven hands-on experience within civil construction environments who understand the requirements of working on active construction sites and can confidently operate machinery while working as part of a civil crew.

About the Role

These positions will suit operators who have worked across projects such as residential subdivisions, major infrastructure, road construction, drainage and general civil earthworks.

You will be expected to operate machinery productively while also understanding how your role fits into the broader civil crew and project requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

- Operating Excavators, Skid Steers and Front End Loaders
- Bulk and detailed earthworks
- Trenching and drainage works
- Loading and material handling
- Road construction and formation works
- Working around underground services
- Operating plant in confined and active construction environments
- Completing pre-start checks and basic plant maintenance
- Working to site plans, levels and instructions
- Assisting with general civil labouring duties when required
- Maintaining a solid focus on safety, productivity and quality

About You

To be successful, you will have:

- Proven civil construction experience operating plant on subdivisions, road infrastructure, drainage, earthworks or major/Tier 1 projects
- Strong operating experience on Excavators, Skid Steers and/or Front End Loaders
- A demonstrated understanding of civil construction processes and site operations
- Experience working around services, drainage, pipes, trenches, road formation and other civil infrastructure
- Relevant plant operator tickets/licences
- Strong understanding of WHS requirements and safe work practices




- Ability to work effectively alongside labourers, operators, supervisors and other trades
- A reliable work ethic and strong attendance
- Ability to work independently while contributing to the wider civil crew
- Willingness to labour when required — these are hands-on civil roles, not machine-only positions

Additional Tickets – Highly Desirable

We are particularly interested in multi-skilled civil operators who can operate a range of plant.

Additional tickets and experience in the following will be highly regarded:

- Roller
- Haul Truck / Dump Truck
- Watercart
- Compactor
- Grader
- Dozer
- Other relevant civil plant

Significant – Civil Experience Required

These positions are specifically for Civil Construction Plant Operators.

We are not seeking operators whose experience is primarily within mining operations, as mining-specific operating experience does not necessarily provide the skills or site experience required for these civil construction roles.
