The opportunity

Join our Southern Recycled Water Operations team and play a vital role in delivering essential wastewater and recycled water services to our growing communities. Based at the Melton Recycled Water Plant, you'll be part of a supportive and experienced team responsible for operating and maintaining critical infrastructure that protects public health and the environment.

This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. You'll monitor and optimise treatment processes, use SCADA and operational technologies to track plant performance, investigate and resolve operational issues, undertake sampling and testing activities, and support maintenance and improvement projects across the site.

Responsibilities

- Operate and monitor wastewater treatment processes to deliver safe, reliable and compliant services to the community.
- Use SCADA and operational systems to monitor plant performance, identify issues and respond to alarms and operational risks.
- Conduct inspections, sampling and testing activities to support treatment performance, water quality outcomes and regulatory compliance.
- Support maintenance,



shutdown and improvement activities, working closely with operators, engineers and contractors to maintain asset reliability.
- Promote a strong safety culture by identifying hazards, managing risks and contributing to continuous activities and participate in a shared after-hours on-call roster, following training and onboarding (typically after 3 months

Skills & Experience

- Certificate III in Water Treatment or Wastewater Treatment Operations, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in treatment plant operations, with strong digital literacy and confidence using SCADA, operational technology and data systems to support safe and reliable plant performance.
- Understanding of safety in operations, dynamic risk awareness, and confined space requirements.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills with a proactive approach to safety and problem-solving.
- Current Driver's Licence and Forklift Licence and ability to participate in rostered after-hours work.
