The Opportunity

n

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a rapidly growing Melbourne based construction group entering an exciting stage of its development.

n

Reporting directly to the Directors, the newly created Head of Finance will take ownership of the finance function and play a key role in supporting the continued growth and professionalisation of the business.

n

This role will suit a hands-on finance leader who enjoys working in an entrepreneurial environment and wants to have a genuine impact on business performance.

The Challenge

n

As Head of Finance, you will combine strong financial leadership with commercial business partnering, providing the Directors with greater visibility over project performance and the broader business.

n

The role will include:

n

n
- Leading the delivery of accurate and timely financial and management reporting
n
- Owning budgeting, forecasting and longer-term financial planning
n
- Managing cash flow, working capital, banking and funding requirements
n
- Providing commercial analysis and insight to the Directors to support strategic decision-making
n




- Driving greater visibility over project profitability, margins, WIP, project costs and cost-to-complete
n
- Strengthening financial controls, reporting processes and overall finance capability
n
- Identifying and implementing improvements across finance systems, processes and automation
n
- Leading and developing the existing finance team
n
- Acting as a key commercial partner to the Directors and broader operational leadership team
n

The Expertise

n

Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:

- CA/CPA qualification with a strong technical accounting foundation
n
- Experience operating within construction, property development or another project-based workplace essential
n
- Strong commercial finance capability with experience partnering with Owners, executives and operational leaders
n
- Demonstrated experience across budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and working capital management
n
- A track record of improving finance systems, processes, reporting and controls
n
- Strong communication and executive presence, with the ability to translate financial information into clear commercial insights
n
- A growth mindset and genuine appetite to build a finance function alongside a rapidly scaling business
