I'm working with a well-established Sydney law firm looking to appoint an experienced Senior Associate to its Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior litigator who enjoys running matters autonomously and providing commercially focused advice. The practice handles a broad range of commercial and civil disputes, with a particular focus on Australian Consumer Law claims involving motor vehicles, contractual disputes and other commercial claims.

The role

n

You will work closely with the Partners while taking ownership of your own matters from initial advice through to resolution.

Your work will include:

n

n
- Commercial and civil litigation
n
- Australian Consumer Law disputes, including motor vehicle matters
n
- Contractual and other commercial disputes
n
- Advising on litigation strategy, liability, risk, evidence and settlement
n
- Drafting pleadings, affidavits, submissions, advices and settlement documentation
n
- Managing discovery, subpoenas, expert evidence and briefs to counsel
n
- Attending directions hearings, mediations and conferences
n
- Managing court deadlines, budgets and client reporting
n
- Mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to the continued development of the practice
n

The position offers genuine autonomy while still providing direct access to experienced Partners.

About you

n

Ideally, you will have:

n

n
- 5+ years PAE in commercial or civil litigation
n
- Strong experience in contractual disputes and Australian Consumer Law matters
n
- Automotive or motor vehicle dispute experience would be highly regarded
n
- Strong knowledge of NSW court practice and procedure
n
- Excellent drafting, negotiation and client-management skills
n
- The ability to independently manage litigation matters and competing deadlines
n
- A commercial and solutions-focused approach to advising clients
n
- Advocacy, mediation or ADR experience would be advantageous
n
- Previous mentoring or supervision experience would also be well regarded
n

What's on offer

n

Salary guide: $170,000 - $210,000 + super, depending on experience.
