As a Statutory Planer, you will contribute to a positive and high performing team focused on providing statutory planning services that realise the Darebin community's vision for a more equitable, vibrant and connected municipality.

n

The position is responsible for town planning functions and providing clear, prompt advice to the public and Council staff on matters relating to the use and development of land. As a Band 5 role, the position focuses on providing day-to-day customer service and processing easy to average complexity statutory planning approvals, while refining and developing the incumbent's professional knowledge and skills.

About the role:

n

The Statutory Planner supports the delivery of high-quality land use and development in a progressive and customer first organisation. In this role, you will work across a diverse range of projects ranging from unit developments, heritage proposals, industrial and commercial developments and applications abutting our creek environments.

You will:

- Provide high-quality statutory planning advice and customer service to applicants, residents and Council staff.
n
- Assess and determine planning applications of simple to average complexity in accordance with policy and legislation.
n




- Prepare planning reports and recommendations for planning permit applications.
n
- Support Council's representation at VCAT hearings.
n

About you:

n

These are the skills, experience and values we are looking for.

- Tertiary qualification in land-use/town planning or other closely related discipline.
n
- Well-developed understanding of the Victorian urban planning system and related acts.
n
- Ability to research and analyse planning related issues.
n
- Ability to manage time, set priorities and prepare and implement work plans in order to achieve desired results within the resources and time available.
