ASC

South Australia

ASC is Australia's submarine company. We built the Royal Australian Navy's Collins Class submarines, sustain them, and are now delivering their Life of Type Extension to increase the boats' service lives. We have also been selected by the Australian Government to sustain and jointly build the nation's nuclear-powered submarines - the largest and most complex industrial undertaking in Australia's history.

Our work is interesting and meaningful, contributing directly to Australia's national security. We offer rewarding roles that provide the opportunity to grow your career, and the flexibility to balance life and work. A career at ASC is like no other, delivering a deeper purpose we can all be proud of.

About the Opportunity

We're looking for a strategic and influential leader who can help ASC maximise the value of external expertise and convert it into lasting organisational capability.

As the Consulting Value Realisation Manager, you'll establish and lead ASC's Consulting Value Realisation (CVR) function, building a new capability that helps ASC capture, retain and realise the value created through consulting engagements. Working closely with business leaders, Procurement and external providers, you'll help ensure consulting engagements not only deliver immediate outcomes, but also leave behind enduring organisational knowledge, skills and value. To achieve this, you'll develop practical frameworks, standards and approaches that support knowledge transfer, capability uplift and organisational learning across ASC.

If you're passionate about organisational capability, transformation, business improvement, and creating sustainable business outcomes, this is an opportunity to build a new capability and make a lasting impact across ASC.

Responsibilities

- Establish, lead and continuously enhance ASC's Consulting Value Realisation (CVR) function, ensuring it delivers meaningful organisational value and impact.
- Develop and maintain practical frameworks, standards and assurance approaches that support effective knowledge transfer, capability uplift and value realisation from consulting engagements.
- Build, mentor and lead a high-performing team that provides strategic guidance, assurance and targeted enablement support across the organisation.

- Partner with business leaders and Procurement to embed capability development and knowledge transfer considerations throughout the consulting engagement lifecycle. Monitor, assess and report on the effectiveness of consulting engagements, including knowledge transfer, capability development and value realisation outcomes.
- Provide independent advice, challenge and assurance on consulting value, capability uplift and organisational learning outcomes.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and knowledge sharing across ASC.

About you

- Tertiary qualification in Business, Engineering, Management, Organisational Development, Change Management or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Significant experience leading business transformation, organisational capability, organisational effectiveness, business improvement or strategic change initiatives within complex organisations.
- Experience establishing or maturing whole-of-organisation capabilities, functions, operating models, frameworks or approaches that deliver sustainable organisational outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to translate external expertise, lessons learned and strategic initiatives into organisational capability and practical business outcomes.
- Solid people leadership experience, including building, leading, mentoring and developing high-performing teams.
- Strategic and pragmatic thinker who can balance long-term capability building with immediate business needs and priorities.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with a demonstrated ability to drive change, align stakeholders and achieve impactful outcomes in complex environments without direct authority.
- Strong communication, facilitation and problem-solving skills, supported by sound judgement and an ability to navigate complex organisational environments.
- Experience in management consulting, business transformation, organisational capability, advisory services,

benefits realisation or business improvement will be highly regarded.
- Experience operating within Defence, or other complex asset-intensive environments will be highly regarded.

This role would be well suited to a leader from a consulting, business transformation, organisational capability, business improvement, benefits realisation or strategic advisory background who is passionate about turning external expertise into enduring organisational capability, knowledge and value.
