Therapeutic Community Model

n

Aranda House is a registered Therapeutic Community (TC) – a structured, participative environment where residents take an active role in their own recovery. Think collaborative, peer-supported healing through group therapy, community meetings, and shared responsibility, rather than one-on-one counselling alone.

n

If you're new to the TC model, know this: it's hands‐on. You'll be engaging in community‐driven recovery activities alongside residents, not just supporting from the sidelines.

About the Opportunity

n

We're looking for two dedicated Case Managers to join our close-knit team at Aranda House. You'll show up for residents day after day – guiding them through recovery, building genuine relationships, and helping them build the life skills and relapse prevention plans they need to thrive independently.

n

In this role, you will:

n

n




- Guide residents through their daily program, from morning handover to evening wind-down
n
- Design and deliver individual treatment and relapse prevention plans
n
- Manage resident intake, induction, and ongoing case reviews
n
- Facilitate group therapy, community meetings, and cultural programs
n
- Keep case notes sharp and support residents with practical next steps like housing and job applications
n
- Work closely with the Service Manager, the Meth Outreach Team and DASA's Aboriginal Outreach Team
n
- Join the on‐call roster (roughly one week every two months) – with paid call‐outs
n

You'll be set up to succeed from day one, shadowing experienced case managers and receiving cultural training within your first three months.

About You

n

Essential Criteria:

n

n
- Case management experience, including direct client support and multidisciplinary teamwork
n
- Solid grasp of AOD recovery principles, harm minimisation, and client‐centred practice
n




- Motivational Interviewing skills and confidence facilitating group therapy and community meetings
n
- Absolute discretion, with the ability to build trust while holding clear professional boundaries
n
- Reliability and resilience working with vulnerable clients in a close residential team setting
n
- Sharp communication, organisational, and case‐note writing skills
n
- Cultural awareness and the ability to work respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
n
- Comfortable working within a smoke‐free therapeutic community
n
- Willingness to join the on‐call roster, including occasional after‐hours support
n
- Current Australian Driver's Licence and First Aid Certificate
n
- Eligible for a National Police Clearance and a Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card) NT
n

Desirable:

- Certificate IV in Community Services (AOD) or similar
n
- Familiarity with AOD/risk screening tools, DASA's programs, or the Mimaso client database
n
