About the role
Join the nursing team on Heath Wing 4 as a Registered Nurse and provide high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centred care in a collaborative clinical environment. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will build therapeutic relationships with patients and their families while contributing to positive patient outcomes and a safe, supportive team culture.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver safe, high-quality and evidence-based nursing care in line with professional standards and Barwon Health requirements.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care in collaboration with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team.
- Establish effective communication with patients, families and healthcare professionals to support quality and continuity of care.
- Contribute to safety, quality improvement, audits and service initiatives within the clinical area.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation and comply with relevant clinical, regulatory and information management requirements.
- Support the learning and development of colleagues and students by sharing your skills and knowledge.
- Maintain professional registration, mandatory training and ongoing continuing professional development.
What we're looking for
- Registered Nurse with minimum of 12 months acute nursing experience at the commencement of program
- Motivated and committed to building knowledge and clinical confidence Effective communication, willingness to embrace feedback and work collaboratively to deliver safe, high-quality patient care.
- Commitment to continuous career development and evidence-based practice

- Temporary part time, 64Hrs/fortnight, commencing January 2027 (12-months opportunity)

About the service
Heath wing 4 is a 20-bed Acute Surgical ward that specialises in caring for patients undergoing emergency procedures and providing pre- and post-operative care. This ward encompasses a range of specialties that require fast-paced interventions for a range of conditions.
