(Senior) Risk and Performance Advisor

City of Darwin is seeking a highly motivated (Senior) Risk and Performance Advisor to join our Corporate and Customer Service team. This is an exciting opportunity for a governance, compliance, risk, or performance professional who enjoys working across multiple disciplines and influencing organisational excellence.

About the Role

Reporting to the Risk Management Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting and enhancing City of Darwin's corporate performance, risk management, internal audit, compliance, insurance and governance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

You will work collaboratively across the organisation to:

- Lead or support insurance claims management and annual insurance renewals.
- Deliver corporate performance reporting and assist with the development of the Municipal Plan and Annual Report.
- Deliver risk reporting and facilitate operational risk assessments across the organisation.
- Support internal audit programs and monitor audit recommendations.
- Coordinate and enhance compliance, governance and document management frameworks.
- Monitor policy and procedure reviews to ensure compliance and good governance.
- Support emergency management activities and disaster recovery funding programs when required.

About You

You bring a strong understanding of corporate governance and risk management, sound written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders across the organisation. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and a high level of ICT literacy are essential to the role. You must be comfortable working autonomously,



and experience in local government will be highly regarded.

- Diploma in Business Administration, Risk, Governance or equivalent qualifications and/or equivalent experience
- Minimum 2 - 3 years' experience in claims management, corporate governance, risk management, or a related role (Level 6 requires 1 year leading relevant programs)
- Ability to obtain a National Criminal History Check
- Current Driver's Licence
- Experience working within a local government environment
