Our client is a major NSW Government-owned utility responsible for essential infrastructure and services across Greater Sydney.
n
The organisation is undertaking a significant long-term infrastructure investment program spanning major asset upgrades, network renewal, growth infrastructure and operational improvement.
n
This is an opportunity to work within a large, complex delivery environment where your analysis will help improve how major infrastructure programs, delivery partners and operational processes work together.
n
About The Role
n
We are seeking two experienced Business Analysts to support project and operational improvement initiatives within a major infrastructure delivery environment.
n
You will investigate how current processes, contractual arrangements, stakeholder interfaces and delivery models operate in practice.
n
The focus is on getting into the detail, identifying what is slowing delivery down and turning complex findings into practical recommendations for senior stakeholders.
n
This role will suit a hands-on Business Analyst who is confident facilitating workshops, mapping processes, conducting gap and root cause analysis and working across complex stakeholder groups.
n
n
- Position: Business Analyst x 2
n
- Rate: $800-$900 per day + super
n
- Location: Parramatta and other Sydney sites as required
n
- Working Arrangement: 3 days office | 2 days WFH
n
- Start: ASAP, subject to checks
n
- Contract: Until 29 January 2027
n
- Extension: Possible
n
- Hours: 40 hours per week
n
- Checks: Police check and 2 references
n

Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Analyse current operational and project delivery processes to identify gaps, duplication, bottlenecks and improvement opportunities
n
- Gather qualitative and quantitative information from stakeholders, documentation and operational data
n
- Lead discovery sessions, workshops and stakeholder interviews
n
- Map current-state and future-state processes, workflows and stakeholder interfaces
n
- Perform gap analysis and root cause analysis across complex delivery environments
n
- Define and document business requirements, process requirements and improvement opportunities
n
- Review delivery models and contractual obligations to understand responsibilities, dependencies and performance issues
n
- Clarify roles, responsibilities, hand-offs and accountabilities across internal and external stakeholders
n
- Assess governance arrangements and identify areas of unnecessary complexity or role ambiguity
n
- Translate complex analysis into practical, evidence-based recommendations
n
- Develop process maps, requirements documentation, reports and decision-support materials
n
- Work closely with project teams, operational stakeholders, subject matter experts and delivery partners
n
- Facilitate agreement on proposed process improvements and future ways of working
n
- Support solution evaluation, implementation planning and business readiness activities
n
- Track actions, risks, dependencies and agreed outcomes arising from analysis
n
- Prepare concise executive reports, presentations and recommendations for senior stakeholders
n
n
About You
n
You are an experienced Business Analyst who can quickly understand complex operating environments and confidently engage stakeholders from frontline teams through to senior leadership.
n
You Will Ideally Bring
n
n
- 5-7+ years of Business Analyst or Senior Business Analyst experience
n
- Strong experience in process analysis, gap analysis and process improvement
n
- Proven current-state and future-state process mapping capability
n
- Experience working across complex project or operational delivery environments
n
- Strong workshop facilitation, discovery and requirements elicitation skills
n
- Demonstrated stakeholder management experience, including senior stakeholders
n
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and root cause analysis capabilityExperience identifying process duplication, bottlenecks, governance issues and unclear accountabilities
n
- Ability to convert complex information into explicit recommendations and actions
n
- Strong executive report writing and presentation skills
n
- Experience reviewing contractual obligations, commercial interfaces or delivery models
n
- Confidence working autonomously across multiple stakeholder groups
n
- Experience within utilities, construction, infrastructure or major capital projects will be highly regarded
n
- Exposure to alliance contracting, NEC contracts or major infrastructure delivery models will be highly regarded
n
- BPMN, Lean, Six Sigma or similar process improvement knowledge will be advantageous
n
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or business analysis certification such as IIBA will be advantageous
n
- Permanent residency, Australian citizenship or a valid long-term Australian work visa with unrestricted working rights
n
- Ability to complete required police and reference checks
