Business Development Officer (Casual Contract) Melbourne CBD | 12 Hours Per Week | 12-Week Casual Assignment
Are you an energetic and confident communicator who enjoys connecting with people and creating new business opportunities? We're looking for a proactive Business Development Officer to join our team on a short-term casual basis and support our business growth initiatives.
This role is ideal for someone with strong outbound sales experience, excellent computer skills, and a passion for prospecting and relationship building.
About the Role
Working closely with our leadership team, you will play a key role in identifying and engaging potential clients within the staffing and workforce solutions market. Your primary focus will be cleansing and maintaining prospect data, conducting outbound calls and email campaigns, and securing appointments for our sales team.
Working Arrangement
- 12 hours per week
- Casual contract for 12 weeks
- 4 hours per day (open to 2 x 6 hour days for experienced candidates)
- Tuesday & Thursday: Melbourne CBD office
- Wednesday: Work from Home
Key Responsibilities
- Cleanse, update, and maintain prospect and customer data within our CRM system
- Research and identify target organisations and decision-makers
- Conduct outbound calls to prospective clients
- Create and send tailored prospecting emails and follow-up communications
- Book qualified appointments for senior sales representatives
- Maintain accurate records of all sales activities and interactions
- Support lead generation and business development campaigns
- Provide regular reporting on activity levels and outcomes
About You
We're looking for someone who is commercially minded, organised, and comfortable engaging with senior decision-makers.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in outbound sales, telemarketing, appointment setting, business development, or lead generation
- Solid confidence on the phone with excellent communication skills
- High level of computer literacy and experience using CRM systems
- Strong attention to detail, particularly when managing and cleansing data
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
- Professional and resilient approach to prospecting and follow-up
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience within staffing, recruitment, workforce planning, labour hire, or professional services
- Understanding of recruitment and workforce solutions markets
