The City of Salmon Arm is currently accepting applications for Fitness Instructor at the SASCU Recreation Centre. The City, in conjunction with the Shuswap Recreation Society, is dedicated to building healthy individuals, families and communities. We offer a wide range of recreation and cultural programs and services to residents of all ages and abilities. We are looking for positive, enthusiastic and friendly individuals to deliver memorable experiences to our customers.

About You!

Responsibilities





- Creating a supportive and engaging workplace for participants of all ability levels.
- Adapting exercises to meet varying mobility and experience levels, with a focus on safety. Effective communication with participants and recreation staff.
- Tracking attendance and reporting any issues or concerns to your supervisor.
- Maintaining a professional and courteous demeanour as a representative of SASCU Recreation Centre.

Required Qualifications

- Current BCRPA Fitness Certification or equivalent, in fitness instruction or specialized disciplines (e.g., group fitness, yoga, Pilates, spin, etc.).
- 6 months experience teaching in a recreational setting.
- Current CPR and a First Aid certification.
- Available to teach weekdays, evenings, and weekends is essential to meet business demands.

Remuneration for this position is in accordance with the CUPE Local 1908 Collective Agreement and starts at $31.25 per hour plus 14% in lieu of benefits and vacation.
