Job Description

- Contract: 6 months, from 15 February 2027 to 14 August 2027, with the option of a further 3-month extension

- Locations: ACT, QLD, WA, VIC or NSW

- Security Clearance: NV2 security clearance required

- Technical Expertise: Fraud and corruption control, risk assessment and control testing, data analysis and Commonwealth Government risk frameworks

About the Prospect
n
We are seeking an experienced Risk Control Tester to support a critical fraud and corruption control program within a Commonwealth Government environment. This role will be responsible for assessing the effectiveness of key controls identified through an enterprise-level Fraud and Corruption Risk Assessment, providing independent insights into control effectiveness, identifying potential weaknesses and recommending practical improvements. This is an excellent opportunity for a risk, assurance, audit or fraud specialist to contribute to an important government-wide risk management initiative.

Your duties will include:
n
n
- Conduct fraud and corruption control testing in line with relevant Commonwealth frameworks and requirements.
n
- Assess the effectiveness and operation of specific controls identified through the Fraud and Corruption Risk Assessment.
n
- Analyse large datasets to identify patterns, trends, anomalies and potential areas of risk.
n
- Assess and communicate operational, financial, strategic and compliance risks.
n
- Engage collaboratively with relevant teams and stakeholders to gather information and validate findings.
n
- Develop a comprehensive findings paper covering scope, risk assessment, methodology, testing outcomes, conclusions and recommendations.

Skills and experience we are looking for:
n
n
- Demonstrated expertise in fraud and corruption control, risk management, assurance, audit or control testing.
n
- Strong understanding of risk assessment and control effectiveness testing within a Commonwealth Government environment.
n
- Proven experience analysing large datasets to identify trends, patterns, anomalies and potential risks.
n
- Strong understanding of operational, financial, strategic and compliance risk types.
n
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, analytical, problem-solving and written communication skills.
n
- Relevant professional qualifications or certifications in risk, audit, fraud, compliance or assurance, with a commitment to current industry practices and regulatory requirements.
