Senior Management Accountant / Finance Business Partner

$145,000 - $160,000 + superannuation + 10% bonus

This is an opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant or Finance Business Partner who enjoys getting beneath the numbers, working closely with operational leaders and improving how finance supports decision making.

Our client is a large, privately owned Australian energy business with significant operations across Queensland and annual revenue of more than $500m.

n

About the Role

n

You will coordinate the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes, working with operational leaders to understand assumptions, identify risks and opportunities and improve the quality of financial planning.

n

Monthly management reporting is an important component, but this position goes considerably further than producing a reporting pack. The focus is on understanding the operational and financial drivers behind the performance changes and using that analysis to influence decision makers.

There is also considerable opportunity to improve the existing reporting setting,



driving visibility of the metrics that actually drive performance.

Responsibilities will include:

n

- Coordinating annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
n
- Preparing and improving monthly management reporting
n
- Analysing performance against budget and forecast
n
- Identifying key operational and financial value drivers
n
- Partnering with operational stakeholders around performance and cost management
n

About You

n

Ideally, you will bring:

n

n
- 5+ years' experience across management accounting, budgeting and forecasting
n
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline with a CA, CPA or equivalent qualification strongly preferred
n
- Strong financial analysis and commercial capability
n
- Proven ability to provide meaningful analysis to support decision making, alongside the proven ability to influence stakeholders to drive this decision making
n
- Experience within resources, energy or another operationally complex industry will be well regarded.
