Job Description

As the OSHC & Vacation Care Director, you will lead and support a dedicated OSHC team in the day-to-day management of the service. Under the minimal direction of the Principal (or delegate), you are responsible for the efficient and effective management of an OSHC & Vacation Care service for less than 80 children. The service operates across Before School Care, After School Care, and Vacation Care Programs. This role plays a pivotal leadership role in staff leadership, program development and delivery, family engagement, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory and legislative requirements.

Key responsibilities

n

Provide leadership, guidance, and support to the OSHC team

n

Oversee the overall management, operation, and administration of the OSHC/Vacation Care service, including management of administrative and staff records, financial accountability, budget preparation and review, and WHS

n

Work in accordance with relevant legislation including Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011 SI 653), the Education and Care Services National Law Act, and the SA Education and Early Childhood Services (Registration and Standards) Act 2011

n

Conduct internal audits to prepare for external audit and ensure compliance with Education and Care National regulations

n

Oversee and lead staff to implement a recreation and leisure program based upon the My Time, Our Place Framework V2 and supervise the quality, development, implementation and evaluation of programs and routines

n

Work with all staff to observe, support and extend children's participation in the program including planning for and facilitating the inclusion of children with additional needs

n





Lead discussion on reflective practice and continuous improvement to achieve, maintain and/or exceed the National Quality Standard

n

Develop the capacity and capability of staff through appropriate and reasonable support and mentoring

n

Ensure the timely preparation, distribution, and supervision of staff rosters consistent with child:staff ratio requirements

n

Manage the purchase, provision, preparation, and storage of nutritious food as per the Healthy Eating Guidelines - Right Bite and within regulated hygiene standards

n

About you

n

Genuine passion for working with children and supporting positive outcomes for their learning, wellbeing, and development

n

Demonstrated experience working in a leadership capacity and managing staff in an OSHC and Vacation Care service

n

Demonstrated experience in overseeing the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of developmentally appropriate programs for children

n

Solid leadership, organisational, and communication skills

n

Ability to supervise, mentor, and support staff in a positive and professional manner

n

Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills

n

Excellent organisational and time management skills

n

High level demonstrated experience undertaking administrative, marketing, and financial management functions

n

High degree of autonomy,



observation, initiative, and discretion to implement solutions

n

High level computer competency

n

Comprehensive knowledge of applicable CESA policies/procedures and legislative compliance requirements relating to WHS, Education and Care Services and Child Protection

n

Excellent team skills to lead, mentor, motivate, guide, support and participate

n

Ability to cope effectively and lead in an emergency and/or stressful situation

n

Current Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education and Care (RRHAN-EC) certificate

n

Current Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting (HLTAID012) certificate

n

Current and acceptable Working with Children Check (WWCC) and Catholic Clearance

n

Knowledge of the National Quality Framework, National Quality Standards, and relevant education and care legislation

n

Commit to upholding and actively contributing to the Catholic ethos of the school
