Specialist Rehabilitation Physician
n
35 hours per fortnight Fractional/Fixed-Term from 04 February 2027 to 29 February 2028 (leave cover)
n
The Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) is one of Victoria's largest hospitals providing a comprehensive range of health services including acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist medical services throughout inpatient and community-based facilities. We are also a proud part of the world-renowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.

The Role:
n
The successful applicant will contribute to a broad Rehabilitation Medicine service, including rotational inpatient rehabilitation, the RMH Rehabilitation@Home program, Consultative Liaison Rehabilitation and Aged Care (CLRAAC), and specialist outpatient rehabilitation clinics.
n
The role also provides opportunities to participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and service development.
n
Clinical responsibilities include:
n
n
- Providing consultant rehabilitation services across rotational inpatient rehabilitation, RMH Rehabilitation@Home, CLRAAC and specialist outpatient rehabilitation clinics, as rostered.
n
- Undertaking comprehensive rehabilitation assessments and developing individualised, goal-directed management plans.
n
- Coordinating care with multidisciplinary teams, community rehabilitation services, primary care providers and other specialist services.
n
- Participating in multidisciplinary case conferences, family meetings and collaborative care planning.
n
- Supervising and teaching AFRM trainees and junior medical staff.
n
- Participating in quality improvement, service development and research activities
n
n
About You:
n
n
- Fellowship of the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (AFRM)
n
- Registration (or eligibility for registration) with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA)
n
- Demonstrated commitment to high-quality patient-centred rehabilitation care
n
- Excellent communication and multidisciplinary team skills
n
- Interest in teaching, quality improvement and research
n
n
