As a Care Assistant, you will visit people in their own homes and offer practical, personal and emotional support based on what each person needs. Some days may involve helping with daily routines, while others may simply be about being a friendly, reassuring face and helping someone feel more confident at home and in the community.
- Supporting people with personal care, including washing, dressing and continence care where required
- Assisting with meal preparation, medication prompts and daily routines
- Supporting people in the community, including shopping, attending medical appointments, taking part in social activities and accessing local services as agreed in their care plan
- Supporting with household tasks and the general upkeep of the home
- Providing companionship, reassurance and emotional support
- Supporting people with everyday tasks, including budgeting or managing day-to-day finances where appropriate and in line with company policies
- Recording care notes accurately and reporting any concerns to the care management team
