We are currently seeking a Full Time Fixed Term staff member to join our team based at our offices in Sunshine.

The role

Reporting to the Program Manager Transforming Brimbank, we are seeking a Transformation Projects Lead who can bring their skills and experience for:

- Serving as Project Owner Representative and Project Control Group Chair for major transformation projects, overseeing a suite of concurrent projects spanning public realm improvements, civic event and gathering spaces, arts and cultural facilities, community safety works, multi-year place activation and programming, public art, and other relevant works
- Bringing strong leadership qualities to a complex program setting, including the ability to inspire confidence, build trust across diverse teams, exercise sound judgement under pressure, communicate with clarity and purpose, and drive accountability and high performance through influence rather than positional authority
- Providing project leadership across cross-functional teams through influence, expertise, and collaboration rather than direct authority, fostering shared accountability, clear direction,



and a culture oriented toward delivering outstanding community outcomes
- Navigating a complex, matrix and multi-sponsor governance environment, reporting to and engaging across multiple Director-level precinct control groups responsible for precinct planning, project delivery, and culture and community outcomes, and preparing and presenting regular project reports, briefings, and verbal updates as required
- Coordinating cross-functional project working groups across design and delivery phases involving multiple Council directorates, departments and specialist teams
- Building and managing broad stakeholder teams, including internal and external subject matter experts across strategic planning, urban design, building services, transport, First Nations engagement, community strengthening, communications, and safety, alongside project partners including a state rail delivery authority, state planning and transport agencies, local arts advisory bodies, and local business and community partnership groups
- Leading multidisciplinary teams and consultant groups from concept through to delivery, directing discipline leads across urban design, engineering, capital works, and arts and culture, and others, ensuring all project elements are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with Council’s Enterprise Project Management Framework
- Working closely and collaboratively with Council’s support departments, including communications, legal, and asset and property services, and others, to coordinate activities that support project planning and delivery, and to ensure Council’s interests are properly communicated, protected, and delivered





To be considered you will have

- Local government experience is desirable
- Ability to work in accordance with our values and behaviours
- Extensive experience in project management of complex projects, including business cases, planning, and delivery of complex capital projects
- Ability to manage projects in an intricate governance environment
- Professional tertiary qualifications in related field.
- Experience in the delivery of design, documentation and implementation of major projects.
- Communication, graphic presentation and report writing skills.
