Design the future of smart buildings in Sydney
n
Join Signify Dynalite's R&D; team and help engineer world-class connected lighting and building control systems used in iconic projects globally. In this role, you'll take ideas from concept through to production - seeing your designs deployed in real environments that improve sustainability, efficiency, and human experience.

Job Summary
n
We're on the lookout for a Mechanical/Mechatronics Design Engineer to join our Sydney Dynalite R&D; Team, a part of our global Signify R&D; Team,
which specializes in creating leading-edge Connected Building & Lighting Control solutions for residential, office, retail, hospitality, industry, sport and public indoor and outdoor space applications world-wide.

Key Areas of Responsibility
n
n
- Own the mechanical design of new lighting control products—from concept through prototyping, validation, and production
n
- Develop robust, manufacturable designs using plastics, sheet metal, and assemblies
n
- Build and test prototypes in a hands-on lab environment
n
- Collaborate closely with electronics, firmware, and global R&D; teams
n
- Contribute to system architecture and product innovation
n
- Translate project requirements into practical engineering solutions
n
- Improve product performance, reliability, and cost through design optimisation
n
n
Your team
n
You'll join a collaborative, Sydney-based R&D; team within our global innovation network. The Dynalite team combines mechanical, electronics, embedded, and software expertise in a fast-moving environment where ideas move quickly from requirements to real-world deployment.
n
Critical Experiences
n
We are looking for a professional holding a Bachelor or higher degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering, who can work in a multi-disciplinary global R&D; team.
n
n
- 3+ years' experience in mechanical or mechatronic product design
n
- Robust 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred)
n
- Experience designing for manufacturing (injection moulded plastics, sheet metal, & assemblies)
n
- Hands-on prototyping and testing experience
n
- Familiarity with engineering validation (DFMEA, DFM, etc.)
n
- Ability to collaborate across disciplines
n
n
Nice to have
n
n
- Basic electrical knowledge
n
- Experience with Adobe Illustrator or similar tools
n
n
