The Principal Program Officer, Disability Housing Advisor has a focus on ensuring inclusive, accessible and appropriate housing and support solutions for young people with disability exiting statutory care.

The Principal Program Officer will work closely with similar positions in other government departments, including health, corrections and youth justice to develop processes, resources and sector development.

The successful candidate will have experience in service design and implementation and practice development with a strong focus on ensuring services are delivering quality outcomes for children and young people and value for investment of public funds.

As a Principal Program Officer - Disability Housing Advisor you will:

- Provide information for staff in government settings about housing pathways options and be involved in person centred planning on a case-by-case basis where housing navigation is particularly challenging and complex for young people with disability transitioning from care.
- Undertake high level, culturally responsive liaison, consultation and negotiation with internal and external stakeholders.
- Undertake the development,



design and monitoring of strategic disability and housing projects and programs to support effective service delivery to children and young people in care and monitor the quality and timeliness of deliverables.
- Undertake program assurance and program reporting to inform senior executives and inter-governmental forums on the benefits and performance of program outcomes and provide evidence of tangible outcomes for children and young people.
- Ensure that service delivery arrangements support the whole of government housing reform, program and strategic intent.
- Use strong interpersonal communication to establish and maintain partnerships and working relationships to achieve outcomes for children and young people with a disability transitioning out of care.
- Prepare a range of written communication materials including correspondence, arrange departmental and inter-departmental meetings and prepare meeting minutes, presentations, briefing material and information papers concerning child protection, disability and housing.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop, manage and review the implementation of program initiatives including information systems, databases, policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the implementation of policies, procedures and practices for Child Safety.
