Sydney Water has an excitingopportunity for aPeople & CultureBusiness Partner to join us on a 12-month fixed term contract!
As atrusted,you will play a key role in shaping workforce capability, organisational effectiveness and people outcomes that support business performance. You will work closely with leaders to understand priorities,providestrategicpeopleadviceand help buildhigh performing, future ready teams.
You will report to the Manager People and Culture working in a tight knit group of professionals who genuinely care for each other and our stakeholders. Working within our People & Culture operating model, you’ll collaborate with our broader team including our Leader Advisor Hub and Centres of Excellence. Together, we deliver an integrated experience ensuring leaders receive the right support through the right channels while focusing your expertise where it adds the greatest value.
Success in this role will come from your ability to maintain a strategic perspective, identify root causes rather than symptoms, and help leaders build capability to address people challenges. You’ll be comfortable working in an workplace and know when to coach, influence and enable rather than to step in and solve every issue yourself. You’re a natural at building strong relationships, influencing meaningful change and helping leaders solve complex workforce challenges. With curiosity and drive, you’re committed to seeing things through.
Responsibilities:
- Work with your P&C; Manager and business leaders to translate business priorities into people plans that drive organisational performance and workforce outcomes.
- Provide strategic and expert advice on a broad range of people practices, including organisational effectiveness, workforce planning, talent management and employee performance.
- Partner with and coach leaders to build capability, strengthen team performance and confidently manage their people related responsibilities.
- Serve as a trusted advisor on complex employee and workplace relations matters,
balancing business needs, risk and employee experience.
- Facilitate key annual people processes, including performance reviews, remuneration cycles, succession planning, and talent discussions, ensuring actions translate into tangible outcomes.
- Identify workforce trends, risks and opportunities, using data and insights to inform decisions and drive meaningful outcomes.
Experience and Qualifications
- Experience in the generalist HR space as a HR or People and Culture Business Partner or similar within a medium to large complex organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and coach leaders on strategic people matters, including workforce planning, organisational capability, performance and change.
- HR experience, with a strong background in employee/workplace relations with the ability to navigate complex and sensitive people matters.
- Experience supporting organisational change, transformation or business improvement initiatives.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management and relationship building skills.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with practical execution and outcomes focused delivery.
- While not essential, HR experience in with blue collar and industrial relations will be advantageous.
- Relevant Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline.
