ROLE – Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (HVAC)

SALARY - $130,000 - $150,000 per annum, dependent on experience

TYPE – Permanent

LOCATION – Sydney, NSW

My client is an established engineering business delivering specialist HVAC and mechanical engineering solutions across a range of projects. They are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with strong experience in HVAC to join their team in Sydney on a permanent basis.

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

- At least 5 years of experience in a similar Mechanical Design Engineering position
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Strong mechanical engineering and design skills
- Previous experience working with HVAC systems and mechanical services
- Robust experience with mechanical HVAC design and engineering
- Previous experience working across commercial, industrial or building services projects
- Experience conducting site investigations and assessing existing HVAC systems
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, equipment and mechanical services
- Good understanding of relevant Australian standards, regulations and building codes
- Experience working with contractors and construction teams




- Strong practical understanding of HVAC installation, testing and commissioning
- Able to manage projects and work to deadlines and budgets
- Able to work well individually as well as part of a team

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:

- Undertaking mechanical design and producing detailed engineering documentation, with a strong focus on HVAC systems
- Conducting site investigations and assessing existing mechanical and HVAC systems
- Developing mechanical and HVAC solutions from concept through to detailed design
- Preparing technical specifications, drawings and engineering reports
- Working closely with architects, engineers, contractors and other project stakeholders
- Providing engineering support throughout the construction phase
- Reviewing drawings, technical documentation and contractor submissions
- Attending project sites to monitor installation and resolve technical issues
- Managing testing, balancing, commissioning and handover of HVAC systems
- Ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with relevant standards and specifications
- Working in a multi-disciplinary team across a variety of projects
