Business Review Group is seeking an experienced Cost Estimator / Cost Modeller to support a complex Defence capability program in Canberra.

This opportunity would suit a strong analytical professional with experience across cost estimation, modelling, statistical analysis and data-driven decision support.

Security Clearance: NV1 minimum

Engagement: Full-time

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Develop, maintain and review cost estimates and cost models.
n
- Build and maintain models using ACEIT and other relevant analytical tools.
n
- Undertake quantitative, statistical and data analysis to support forecasting and decision-making.
n
- Analyse historical cost, schedule and program data to identify trends and inform estimates.
n
- Conduct sensitivity, scenario, risk and uncertainty analysis.
n
- Support lifecycle and whole-of-life cost modelling.
n
- Prepare reports, briefings and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
n
- Work closely with project, finance, engineering and capability teams.
n

Essential Requirements

n

n
- Demonstrated experience in cost estimation, cost modelling or cost analysis.
n
- Hands-on experience using ACEIT.
n
- Robust statistical, quantitative and data analysis capability.
n
- Experience developing defensible cost models and assumptions.
n
- Strong Excel skills and experience working with complex datasets.
n
- Strong written and stakeholder communication skills.
n
- Active NV1 security clearance or higher.
n

Highly Desirable

n

- Defence capability, acquisition or sustainment experience.
n
- Lifecycle cost estimation or investment analysis experience.
n
- Experience with Monte Carlo, forecasting or probabilistic analysis.
n
- Exposure to Power BI, Python, R, SQL or similar analytical tools.
n
- Relevant qualifications in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, engineering, data analytics or a related discipline.
