At Think HQ, we are experts in reaching today’s Australia. Our portfolio of inclusive communications engagements is growing and we’re looking for a Senior Lead to join our team.
Australia is one of the most culturally and linguistically diverse countries in the world, but too often important information, campaigns and conversations don’t reach everyone equally. Our work helps change that.
About the role:
As Senior Lead - Inclusive Communications you’ll be responsible for shaping and overseeing integrated communication campaigns designed to meaningfully connect with multicultural communities across Australia. You’ll bring together strategy, advertising, PR, community engagement, content and language services to help our clients communicate in ways that are relevant, accessible and culturally informed.
You’ll work closely with clients, communities and specialists from across Think HQ to turn complex communication challenges into thoughtful, effective campaigns that create positive outcomes.
This role is unique in that part of it requires market profile and advocacy for inclusive communications, with a lean towards multicultural communications. As our work grows in this space, we need a leader who can influence industry standards, advocating for clients across business and government to communicate inclusively with all Australians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a portfolio of clients and projects with a strong focus on multicultural and inclusive communications, building trusted relationships and providing strategic advice.
- Develop clear, thoughtful and inclusive communication strategies and high quality proposals designed to reach today’s multicultural Australia.
- Lead integrated campaigns spanning multicultural and in-language advertising, PR, owned content, community and stakeholder engagement, events and activations.
- Bring together specialists from across Think HQ to shape and deliver genuinely integrated work.
- Help design research and consultation approaches that include and represent the communities our campaigns need to reach.
- Provide strategic recommendations on audiences, channels, formats, language, content and user experience.
- Guide the development of culturally inclusive campaign concepts, creative, talent and content.
- Produce and oversee high-quality written, audio and visual communication materials, including content designed for translation and adaptation.
- Build strong relationships with multicultural community organisations, leaders, stakeholders and media.
- Plan and oversee media, community and stakeholder events and partnerships.
- Support and develop CultureVerse Specialists and junior members of the team, providing explicit direction, feedback and coaching.
- Keep across multicultural community issues, audience insights, government policy and the broader media and communications landscape.
- Evaluate campaigns and use insights to continually strengthen our work.
- Advocate for inclusive communications to key stakeholders and client groups.
- Contribute to Think HQ’s growth through existing client relationships, new opportunities, pitches and proposals.
About you:
You’re an experienced communications practitioner who combines strong strategic thinking with excellent client leadership and a genuine interest in how communications can better serve Australia’s diverse communities.
You’ll ideally bring:
- Significant experience in communications, PR, advertising or a related field, ideally within an agency environment.
- Strong experience developing and delivering communication strategies and integrated campaigns.
- The confidence to independently manage clients, projects, budgets, stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to make complex information clear and accessible.
- An understanding of how content needs to be developed for diverse audiences, including people with lower English proficiency and content that will be translated or culturally adapted.
- An interest in or experience working with multicultural communities, along with an understanding of Australia’s cultural and linguistic diversity.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to keep multiple projects moving without losing sight of the detail.
- Experience working across media, PR, content, stakeholder or community engagement channels.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to bring different specialists together around a shared outcome.
- Robust attention to detail, curiosity and sound judgement.
- An understanding of cultural competency and a commitment to continuing to build your own.
- Experience delivering government, public information or behaviour-change campaigns, working with multicultural media, or planning major stakeholder and community activations would be a bonus.
Don’t worry if you don’t tick every box. We’re much more interested in finding someone smart, thoughtful and motivated who shares our values, cares about the work and wants to keep learning and growing.
Part-time and flexible work arrangements can be considered. Think HQ is a family-friendly, hybrid workplace.
Think HQ values inclusion and diversity. We welcome and actively encourage applications from people of all ages, abilities, and cultures, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, LGBTQIA+ people, people from our multicultural communities, or who speak a language other than English, people with disabilities, older Australians and parents returning to the workforce.
