About the role
- Provide expert clinical advice and specialist care coordination for patients with complex chronic pain needs, working collaboratively with patients, carers and multidisciplinary teams.
- Lead triage, referral management and patient flow, acting as the primary point of contact for the Chronic Pain Service.
- Coordinate and participate in outreach services to improve access to specialist pain care for rural,
vulnerable and Aboriginal communities.
- Provide clinical leadership through service governance, quality improvement, research and evidence-based practice, supporting the ongoing development of the Chronic Pain Service.
- Contribute to education, workforce development and strategic and operational planning to enhance the delivery and sustainability of specialist pain services.
About you
- Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency
- Minimum 5 years full-time equivalent post registration experience
- Approved post registration nursing/midwifery qualifications relevant to the field in which he/she/they are appointed, or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and within the interdisciplinary team using effective communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
- Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking and analysis in their daily practice as a registered nurse
- Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads within a complex environment
