The Role

Reporting to the ManagerStrategic Planning and based in Windsor NSW, the primary purpose of this role isto assist in the coordination and operations of the Strategic Land Use Team within the Strategic Planning Branch,that guides the sustainable growth, development and environmental management of the Hawkesbury Local Government Area.

About You

To be successful in thisposition you must have a degree qualification in Town Planning and a strongbackground in Land Use Strategy/plan development supported by expertise withrelated legislation. Ability to manage and coordinate multiple complex projects concurrently. You will have excellentcommunication skills and the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinaryteam.

- Degree qualification in Town Planning, UrbanPlanning or related discipline recognised by the Planning Institute ofAustralia.




- Demonstrated experience in strategic land useplanning within Local Government or a comparable planning environment(typically 6+ years).
- Extensive experience preparing and managingPlanning Proposals and Local Environmental Plans.
- Experience preparing Development Control Plansand strategic planning policies.
- Experience managing complex planning projectsinvolving multiple stakeholders.
- Experience preparing reports for Council andExecutive.
- Experience leading community consultation andstakeholder engagement
- Experience managing consultants andmultidisciplinary projects
- High Level interpersonal, negotiation andcommunication skills
- Excellent written communication skills,including ability to prepare reports
- Class C driver's licence
- The right to live and work in Australia
- WHS General Construction Work in NSW
- Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Successful applicants will be required toundergo background (police) checks and medical declaration
- Post graduate studies in Management, Environment,Law or related discipline
- Member of Planning Institute of Australia
- Knowledge of the Local Government Act 1993
