Job Description
Join Aspen Medical’s Defence & National Security team as our National Roster Manager , leading workforce deployment, scheduling and rostering across complex, nationally distributed healthcare workforces. Working closely with National and Regional Operations, Workforce Planning, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development and Clinical Services, you will ensure the right people are deployed to the right locations at the right time to support safe, sustainable and contractually compliant 24/7 service delivery. This is an influential operational leadership role with responsibility for roster governance, workforce utilisation, coverage, surge response and scheduling performance across metropolitan, regional and remote environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of national 24/7 rostering and workforce deployment, ensuring appropriate workforce coverage across all service delivery locations.
- Establish strong rostering governance, standards and controls, ensuring compliance with employment arrangements, awards and EBAs, fatigue management requirements, credentialing and organisational policies.
- Proactively identify and respond to workforce shortages, leave impacts, coverage risks and changing operational demand, including the coordination of surge and contingency workforce arrangements.
- Partner with Workforce Planning, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Operations and Clinical Services to align workforce forecasts, recruitment, mobilisation and readiness with operational requirements.
- Use workforce data and analytics to monitor utilisation, vacancies, roster performance and deployment trends, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency,
workforce experience and operational performance.
About You
- Significant experience leading complex workforce deployment, rostering, scheduling or workforce operations, ideally across multiple sites or a geographically dispersed workforce.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Health Administration, Workforce Management, Human Resources or a related discipline, or substantial equivalent operational experience.
- Solid knowledge of workforce scheduling, utilisation, service continuity and roster governance, with the ability to translate operational demand into practical workforce solutions.
- Demonstrated experience using workforce management, rostering, scheduling or workforce analytics systems, with strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience working across operational, workforce and senior leadership teams in complex service environments.
- Experience within healthcare, Defence, government contracting, emergency management or another mission-critical 24/7 environment will be highly regarded, as will experience mobilising or scheduling regulated professional workforces.
