Quality Control + Panel Production - Shared Role
n
ASKIN Performance Panels is looking for a Quality Control Inspector to join our manufacturing team at Dandenong South.
n
This is a shared role combining Quality Control and hands-on panel production. It is not a full-time Quality Control position.
n
The successful candidate will work across two key areas:
n
Quality Control
n
Inspect insulated panels throughout the manufacturing process.
n
Complete visual and dimensional quality checks against specifications, drawings and customer requirements.
n
Identify, record and elevate defects and non-conformances.
n
Assist with investigations, corrective actions and reducing recurring quality issues.
n
Maintain quality records and support continuous improvement.
n
Work on our panel production lines when Quality Control activities are not required.
n
Operate production machinery where trained and competent.
n
Provide coverage for machine operators and assist with general production duties.
n
Develop a strong practical understanding of our manufacturing processes and products.
n
The balance between Quality Control and production work will depend on manufacturing requirements. Candidates must be comfortable working across both areas as part of their normal role.

About the Role
n
Reporting to the Operations Manager, with technical support from the Quality Manager, you will play an important role in maintaining product quality while also supporting the day-to-day operation of our manufacturing facility.
n
Your responsibilities will include:
n
Inspecting work-in-progress and finished products.
n
Checking products against drawings, specifications, SOPs and customer requirements.
n
Identifying and communicating defects and non-conformances.
n
Completing quality records and documentation.
n
Supporting NCRs, investigations and corrective actions.
n
Working with production teams to reduce defects, rework and waste.
n
Working on panel production lines when required.
n
Operating machinery when appropriately trained and competent.
n
Providing machine operator coverage when required.
n
Following safety, quality and production procedures.
n
Contributing to continuous improvement and practical process improvements.
n
Maintaining a clean, organised and safe work area.

What We're Looking For
n
To be successful in this role, you will have:
n
Previous manufacturing or production experience – essential.
n
Machine operating or similar production experience – highly desirable.
n
Previous Quality Control or inspection experience – desirable.
n
A practical understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment.
n
Solid attention to detail and accuracy.
n
Ability to identify defects and quality issues.
n
Ability to read and follow SOPs, work instructions, drawings and specifications.
n
Good communication and documentation skills.
n
Ability to work effectively with production operators and supervisors.
n
Ability and willingness to move between Quality Control and hands-on production work.
n
A strong commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
n
A practical, reliable and proactive approach to work.

The Person We're Looking For
n
We are looking for someone who is comfortable on the factory floor and enjoys a role that combines inspection with hands-on production.
n
You will take pride in the quality of your work, have a good eye for detail and be confident raising quality issues when you see them.
n
You will also be prepared to get involved in production, operate machinery when required and work as part of the manufacturing team.
n
Most importantly, you will be someone who takes ownership, communicates well and looks for practical ways to improve quality and production outcomes.
