The Opportunity

We are seeking a suitably qualified Teacher for the following Permanent position.

YEARS 7-10 SCIENCE TEACHER - PERMANENT

This is a permanent position working within the Middle and Senior Schools of Tenison Woods College. The FTE will be negotiated with the successful applicant.

The teacher will:

- Apply curriculum knowledge andpedagogical practiceswhich facilitate successful learning;
- Respond to learner’s needs;
- Develop and maintain positive and effective working relationships;
- Differentiateteaching to meet the specific learning needsof studentsacross the full range of abilitiesincluding developingPersonalised Plans for Learning(PPL’s), as appropriate;
- Assess student learning and report achievement against the standards; and
- Create and maintain supportive and safe learning environments.

Professional Responsibilities

- Actively implementsafeguarding practices in accordance with the National Catholic Safeguarding Standards and school policies.
- Fulfil all requirements of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
- Actively commit to uphold and contribute to the ethos of Catholic schools in general as well as that of the school.
- Comply with relevant legislation as well as South Australian Commission for Catholic Schools (SACCS) and the school’s policies, guidelines and procedures.
- Meet and teach students at designated locations and times.
- Appropriately assist students who are hurt, sick or in distress.
- Diligently undertake supervision duties, including regular yard duty.
- Maintain qualified boundaries and model respectful behaviour.

Qualifications and Training

- SA Teachers Registration
- Working with Children Check
- Approved Mandatory Notification training – Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care certificates (Masterclass & Fundamental courses)
- Keeping Safe: Child Protection Curriculum certificate
- First Aid Certificate




- Be willing to undertake Teacher Accreditation in Catholic Education SA training, along with any other compulsory training necessary for the role.
