Glenelg Shire Council is looking for an enthusiastic Kindergarten Teacher to work in a supportive team setting.
Located in the rural township of Casterton, the Kathleen Millikan Centre is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Bachelor Qualified Early Childhood Teacher to join our team and help make a positive difference in the lives of young children.
As part of a small, close-knit farming community on the traditional lands of the Gunditjmara, Boandik and Jardwadjali peoples, our team is committed to creating a nurturing, inclusive and supportive environment where children, families and educators can thrive.
Contact days will Monday and Friday 8.30am-4.00pm with non-contact time scheduled accordingly.
What you need to Succeed
- Bachelor of Early Years Education or equivalent.
- Current First Aid qualification HLTAID012.
- National Child Safety training.
- Knowledge of the National Quality Framework and an understanding of how this this reflects on daily practice.
- Demonstrated experience working with children and families.
- Experience in assisting in the development and implementation of an educational program.
- Demonstrated ability to work flexibly and collaboratively with all staff.
- Ability to manage risks and identify health and safety issues pertaining to workplace.
- A positive outlook and team approach.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships to support children's learning, wellbeing, independence and development.
- Educational Leadership and willingness to support the growth of individuals and teams.
