About the role

n

The Office of the 24-Hour Economy Commissioner is seeking a Policy & Project Officer to support the development and delivery of initiatives that strengthen NSW's nighttime economy.

n

In this role, you'll bring together policy, research, stakeholder engagement and project management to help create thriving and well-coordinated nighttime precincts. You'll work with a diverse range of stakeholders, including hospitality, retail and small businesses, councils and cultural organisations, providing practical policy advice and supporting initiatives that make a difference to communities and businesses.

What you'll do

n

- Research and analyse policy issues, options and data to support evidence-based decision making.
n
- Develop clear policy advice, briefs, discussion papers and submissions for a range of audiences.
n
- Support policy development and implementation from research through to delivery and evaluation.
n
- Build strong relationships with businesses, councils, cultural organisations and other key stakeholders.
n
- Coordinate working groups, committees and stakeholder consultations.
n
- Monitor emerging and contentious issues and provide advice on their potential impacts.
n
- Support reporting, monitoring and evaluation to measure policy outcomes and inform future initiatives.

About You

n





We're looking for someone with:

n

n
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field and/or equivalent professional experience.
n
- Experience in policy development, including preparing materials for Cabinet and Parliament.
n
- Strong research, analytical and written communication skills.
n
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders and managing competing priorities.
n
- The ability to translate complex information into transparent, practical advice.
n
- Strong project coordination and stakeholder engagement skills.
n
- Experience in planning, local government and/or liquor licensing will be highly regarded.
n
