About the role
n
We are seeking an experienced Medical Practice Manager to join OccMed Adelaide Pty Ltd (T/A OccMed Solutions) on a part-full-time basis, based in Gilles St, Adelaide, SA 5000.
n
Key responsibilities
n
n
- Overseeing day-to-day operations of the medical practice, including scheduling, staffing and resource allocation, assist reception and with pre-employment medicals as required
n
- Managing patient appointments, ensuring efficient booking systems and minimising wait times
n
- Supervising reception and administrative staff, providing training, guidance and performance management
n
- Maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations, privacy laws and occupational health and safety requirements
n
- Managing practice finances, including payroll, calculation of doctors' service fees, reconciling accounts, invoicing, accounts payable, budgeting and cost control
n
- Ensuring electronic health records and practice management systems are properly maintained and updated
n
- Managing supplier relationships and procurement of practice supplies and equipment
n
- Handling patient enquiries and complaints professionally and resolving issues promptly
n
- Maintaining cleanliness, safety and compliance standards across the practice premises
n

What we're looking for
n
n
- Proven experience as a Medical Practice Manager or in a similar healthcare administration role
n
- Strong knowledge of medical practice operations, including patient scheduling, billing and compliance requirements
n
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands
n
- Proficiency with practice management software and electronic health record (currently ZedMed) systems
n
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with clinical and administrative staff
n
- Sound financial acumen and experience in practice budgeting and financial management
n
- Knowledge of Australian healthcare regulations, privacy legislation and occupational health requirements
n
- Demonstrated leadership capability and experience in staff supervision and team management
n
- Professional approach to patient confidentiality and data security
n
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced healthcare environment
n
- A current police clearance or willingness to obtain one
n

What we offer

OccMed Solutions is committed to creating a supportive and professional workplace. We are a dedicated Specialist Occupational Medicine practice, primarily doing clinical consultation work. We currently operate 4 days per week (M-Th), with around 2-3 FTE consultant Occupational Physicians, but likely to expand to 5 days during 2027, potentially with the addition of another consultant physician.
