Head of Engineering, Advanced Manufacturing Tools

A well funded, fast moving deep tech hardware company is hiring a Head of Engineering to own development of its manufacturing tool from the ground up.

n

The Role

n

Lead engineering delivery of a complex manufacturing tool spanning mechanical, electrical, software, controls, process, metrology, fluid delivery, and automation subsystems.

n

You will:

n

- Translate company goals and technical vision into engineering plans, milestones, resourcing, and delivery schedules
n
- Own key technical decisions across tool design, fabrication, integration, testing, and productisation
n
- Report delivery status, risks, and trade offs to the executive team
n
- Oversee design and integration of all critical subsystems
n
- Manage critical suppliers, OEMs, and subcontractors
n
- Hire, mentor, and grow a high performing engineering team
n
- Set standards for engineering process, technical discipline, and accountabilityDrive quick but rigorous development cycles with strong documentation and data driven decisions

About You

n

- Have independently led engineering teams delivering complex precision manufacturing tools or equipment
n
- Can turn ambitious technical goals into realistic plans, milestones, and risk registers
n
- Experience delivering hardware systems on aggressive timelines
n
- Broad technical fluency across precision manufacturing processes
n
- Experience with precision motion, sensing, control, metrology, or industrial automation systems
n
- Hands on with the technical work, senior enough to lead through people and process
n
- Strong communicator across executives, engineers, partners, and customers
n
- Track record taking tools from concept to prototype to volume production
n
- Experience with high throughput processing, precision alignment, or advanced material handling
n
- Exposure to complex electromechanical or process equipment development
n
- Experience scaling teams from informal to structured
n
- Background in customer driven product environments, not just research
