We are seeking to establish a pool of Kindergarten to Year 6 (K-6) for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 and 2027 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Situated 230 km south-east of Perth in the Shire of Wickepin, our school caters for students from K-6 and offers a nurturing school experience where every student is encouraged to achieve personal success. Wickepin Primary School (PS) has a strong community focus and is integral to the thriving rural community of Wickepin.

The Role

Wickepin PS is seeking dedicated and adaptable K-6 Teachers to join their team. Suitable applicants should display the ability to work independently across a variety of school settings, while also possessing strong interpersonal and collaborative skills. A flexible approach to the school day and a willingness to contribute to a dynamic and diverse school environment would be highly regarded.

Teachers at Wickepin PS work collaboratively to develop engaging and differentiated learning experiences aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum, Early Years and Primary Learning Frameworks, and supported by the effective use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Learning environments are designed to be inclusive, supportive, creative and responsive to the diverse needs of all students. Teaching and learning programs should promote dignity and respect for every learner,



with a strong focus on Classroom Management Strategies (CMS) and values-based education.

Suitable applicants should actively contribute to the implementation of the school’s Business Plan, work effectively within a team teaching environment, and display a commitment to whole-school approaches and initiatives. An evidence-based approach to teaching is highly regarded, along with the ability to create learning environments that are inclusive, challenging, nurturing and imaginative, where every student is supported to achieve and make meaningful progress.

Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers

Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school,



or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.

- hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment. More information about employment eligibility can be found on our website.
- apply for a WA Working with Children Check before you start; and
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
