Are you an experienced Head Chef, Senior Sous Chef or Production Chef ready to lead beyond the walls of a traditional restaurant?

Good 2 Eat Catering is looking for a capable, organised and people-focused Head Chef to lead our kitchen team on the Sunshine Coast.

We cater weddings, corporate functions, private celebrations and major events across South East Queensland. One week might include an intimate hinterland wedding, a corporate conference and a large outdoor event. The next will look completely different.

This is a genuine leadership position for a chef who can produce ridiculously good food at scale, build a strong team and remain calm when plans change.

What you’ll be responsible for

- Leading daily kitchen production and preparation
- Planning food production across multiple weekly events
- Managing and developing chefs and kitchen assistants
- Allocating the right chefs to production and off-site events
- Maintaining food quality, consistency and presentation at scale
- Overseeing ordering, stock control, yields and supplier relationships
- Managing food costs and reducing waste
- Ensuring dietary requirements and allergen information are handled accurately
- Maintaining food safety,



cleaning and compliance standards
- Working closely with our operations, sales and event-coordination teams
- Leading calmly and practically when event plans or guest numbers change
- Attending and leading selected off-site events when required

You’ll be a great fit if you

- Have strong experience as a Head Chef, Senior Sous Chef, Executive Sous Chef or Production Chef
- Can confidently manage high-volume food production
- Understand that outstanding leadership is about clarity, standards and supporting people
- Are highly organised and comfortable managing multiple deadlines
- Can cost menus, monitor yields and manage food costs
- Have excellent knowledge of food safety, allergens and dietary requirements
- Communicate clearly with chefs, kitchen hands, event teams and office staff
- Stay calm under pressure and take responsibility when something needs fixing
- Have catering, banquet, hotel, resort or large-event experience, although this is not essential for the right leader

Salary and hours

The salary range is $100,000-$115,000 plus super, depending on experience and capability.

This is an events-based role, so some weekend and evening work is required. Hours and time off will be planned around the event calendar, with clear expectations discussed during the interview.
