Arpro Lifts and Escalators is seeking a skilled and dedicated Escalator Technician to join our growing team in Sydney, NSW. This is a full-time position, where you will be responsible for the installation, repair and servicing of escalators across a diverse range of commercial and public installations throughout the Sydney region. You will play a crucial part in ensuring the safety, reliability and optimal performance of escalators.
Key responsibilities
- Install, inspect, and repair escalators to manufacturers' specifications and industry safety standards
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults in escalator systems
- Perform emergency repairs and callout support to minimise downtime for clients
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation of all work completed
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding work completed, findings and recommendations
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and best practices on site
- Collaborate with team members and contribute to the overall success of project deliverables
What we’re looking for
- A recognised trade qualification or apprenticeship in mechanical, electrical, or a related field, with relevant industry experience.
- Proven experience as an escalator technician or in a similar maintenance and repair role within the lift and escalator industry
- Sound knowledge of escalator mechanical and electrical systems, hydraulics and safety mechanisms
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and test equipment
- A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to various work sites across Sydney
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards
- Clear communication skills and a customer-focused approach
- Current or willingness to obtain relevant certifications such as Working at Heights and First Aid
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift and carry equipment, work at heights and in confined spaces
