Azooa is seeking experienced Senior Linux Infrastructure Engineers for a long-term Department of Defence engagement in Canberra.
This is a hands-on infrastructure engineering opportunity with a strong focus on Linux administration, system hardening, configuration management, automation, infrastructure lifecycle support and secure ICT environments.
The requirement is for 4 Infrastructure Engineers at APS6-equivalent level, with an initial 12-month engagement and potential for 2 x 12-month extensions. Candidates must hold a current TSPV security clearance at the time of submission.
About the Role
The successful engineers will support the implementation, management, maintenance and eventual retirement of infrastructure used to deliver secure digital services.
The workplace may include physical, virtual, networking and cloud infrastructure, but the strongest sourcing focus for this opportunity is candidates with solid Linux infrastructure engineering and hardening experience.
This is a practical engineering role across the broader system development and operational lifecycle, with responsibility for:
- Configuration management
- Systems installation and maintenance
- Infrastructure testing
- Technical troubleshooting
- Availability and recovery
- Operational support
Key Responsibilities
You may be responsible for:
- Administering and maintaining Linux-based systems
- Performing Linux system hardening and secure configuration
- Installing, configuring, maintaining and decommissioning infrastructure
- Supporting physical, virtual, network and cloud infrastructure
- Developing and maintaining automation and administration scripts
- Automating infrastructure provisioning, testing and deployment
- Supporting configuration management and controlled infrastructure changes
- Planning and implementing infrastructure maintenance and updates
- Conducting technical testing and resolving system faults
- Monitoring infrastructure availability, reliability and performance
- Supporting disaster-recovery arrangements and recovery testing
- Contributing to infrastructure and systems design
- Supporting integration builds and technical verification activities
- Reviewing test plans and procedures against technical requirements
- Maintaining operational procedures and technical documentation
- Resolving infrastructure issues during capability development
- Providing recommendations for infrastructure improvement
- Engaging with technical stakeholders and delivery teams as required.
Linux is a key part of this requirement.
We are particularly interested in engineers with practical experience across:
- Patch and update management
- Operational maintenance
- Configuration compliance
- Infrastructure security controls
- Linux-based service availability
Candidates should be able to demonstrate what they personally configured, hardened, automated, maintained or resolved in Linux environments.
