Job Description
My Tier 2 client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to team delivering a major health project in Sydney.
n
This is an excellent opportunity for a driven construction professional to join a high-performing project team and play a key role in the successful delivery of a complex, large-scale building project from commencement through to completion.
n
You will work closely with the Project Manager, site team, consultants, subcontractors and client representatives, taking ownership of key engineering, procurement, commercial and coordination activities across the project lifecycle.
n
About the Role
n
As Senior Project Engineer, you will be responsible for:
n
n
- Managing engineering and technical aspects of the project from design development through to construction and completion.
n
- Coordinating consultants, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure project requirements are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
n
- Driving procurement activities, including scopes of work, tendering, subcontractor engagement, material procurement and supplier management.
n
- Ensuring materials, plant and services are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively and in accordance with project specifications and quality requirements.
n
- Managing RFIs, technical documentation, design coordination, shop drawings and construction methodologies.
n
- Monitoring project progress, identifying potential risks and driving timely resolution of technical and construction issues.
n
- Working closely with the Project Manager and commercial team on project cost, variations, progress claims and subcontractor management.
n
- Maintaining accurate project documentation and ensuring contractual and project requirements are met.
n
- Building strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal project stakeholders.
n
- Supporting and mentoring junior engineers while contributing to a collaborative, high-performing project culture.
n
- Utilising construction management systems such as CHEOPS, Aconex or similar to manage project documentation, correspondence and workflows.

About You
n
To be successful in this role, you will have:
n
n
- 8+ years' construction experience, with a proven track record in a Senior Project Engineer or similar role.
n
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building or a related discipline.
n
- Proven experience delivering large-scale building projects from commencement through to completion.
n
- Strong technical understanding of construction methodology, design coordination and project delivery.
n
- Demonstrated procurement expertise, with the ability to source materials and services efficiently, competitively and to high-quality standards.
n
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills, with experience working collaboratively across project teams, consultants, subcontractors and clients.
n
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a quick-paced project environment.
n
- Proficiency in CHEOPS, Aconex or similar construction/project management software.
n
- A proactive approach with the ability to take ownership, make sound decisions and drive outcomes.
