Provide specialist visiting Clinical Haematology services to patients of Far West Local Health District through outpatient consultation, multidisciplinary collaboration, clinical governance activities, and expert advice to ensure safe, high-quality and accessible haematology care for rural and remote communities. Providing 8 hours per week (16 hours per fortnight) comprising approximately 4-6 clinical hours (on-site and/or remote) and 2-4 clinical administrative hours per week (remote). Hours and fraction of on-site and remote and open to negotiation. Travel to and accommodation in Broken Hill are provided.

As a VMO providing Clinical Haematology services to Broken Hill and Far West LHD, you will have a unique opportunity to deliver high-quality, specialist care to some of Australia's most remote and resilient communities. Through a flexible hybrid model combining on-site outreach and remote service delivery, you will provide expert leadership in the diagnosis, treatment,



and ongoing management of both benign and malignant haematological conditions, working alongside dedicated local clinicians and multidisciplinary teams. This role offers the best of both worlds: the professional fulfilment of practising broad and meaningful clinical haematology in a rural healthcare setting, and the opportunity to make a tangible difference in health equity by bringing specialist services closer to home for remote communities. Supported by telehealth, established referral pathways, robust clinical networks with Adelaide and Sydney, and a highly collaborative healthcare environment, you will play a pivotal role in improving patient outcomes and shaping the future of specialist care in the Far West. Selection Criteria

- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent and current unconditional registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) with recognised specialist qualifications and registration in Clinical Haematology, or specialist recognition deemed equivalent by the Medical Board of Australia.
- Demonstrated contemporary clinical experience in the diagnosis and management of benign and malignant haematological disorders.
- Demonstrated ability to provide specialist consultation services within rural,



regional and/or remote health settings, including telehealth models of care.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, clinical governance, patient safety and risk management activities.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development, teaching and support of medical, nursing and allied health staff.
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships with patients, families, community stakeholders and tertiary referral services to support patient-centred care.
