A leading Australian financial institution is seeking a Principal Identity Engineer to provide technical leadership across both Workforce and Customer Identity. Working at the intersection of engineering, architecture, security and strategy, you will help define identity standards, influence technology direction and support the delivery of key identity initiatives across a large and complex environment.

This is a highly visible individual contributor role where your expertise will be valued by senior technology and security leaders. You will balance strategic thinking with hands on technical leadership, helping teams solve complex identity challenges while driving long term capability uplift.

Act as the organisation’s senior identity subject matter expert, partnering directly with engineering teams to solve complex identity challenges, provide technical guidance on critical initiatives, unblock delivery, and ensure solutions are scalable, secure and aligned to long term business and technology objectives.

The Opportunity

You will:

- Define and influence the Identity and Access Management roadmap
- Provide leadership across Workforce Identity and Customer Identity platforms
- Support engineering teams with deep identity SME expertise
- Guide IAM, PAM and Identity Governance initiatives
- Establish architecture patterns, engineering standards and best practices
- Partner closely with Security, Engineering and Architecture teams
- Drive modern identity practices across cloud,



DevOps and DevSecOps environments
- Act as a trusted advisor on identity related technology decisions

What We're Looking For

You will bring:

- 10+ years of Identity and Access Management experience
- Experience working within large and complex enterprise environments
- Strong capability across identity engineering, architecture and strategy
- Exposure to technologies such as Entra ID, Okta, SailPoint, CyberArk and Ping Identity
- Experience across both Workforce and Customer Identity environments
- Strong understanding of Identity Governance, Privileged Access Management, Authentication and Authorisation
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
