With continued growth and a strong pipeline of newly awarded projects, we are seeking an experienced Project Controls Manager to join our team at our Head Office in Doncaster, Melbourne.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will play a key role in driving effective project controls across our projects. You will be responsible for leading and developing the cost control and scheduling function across all projects within the Operations portfolio in Australia and Papua Current Guinea (PNG).

This role will ensure alignment with the strategic direction of the business by establishing standardised cost management practices and portfolio reporting processes and driving consistent application across all projects. The position will also provide hands‑on cost control support, facilitating integration, coordination, and compliance to support successful project delivery. What you will do.

- Lead and manage the cost control and scheduling capability, including systems and processes. Provide project support and cross-functional guidance across Operations, Procurement, Commercial, and Finance teams
- Coordinate, develop, and mentor the project controls team to ensure consistent and robust practices across the project portfolio.
- Drive cost control compliance and governance including WBS, budgeting, reporting, change control, forecasting, and cost close-out
- Ensure tender costs are allocated in accordance with the budget structure.




- Assist the Estimating Manager in the development of a cash flow forecast based on the established project budget and contract programme.
- Develop and manage project programs including WBS and S-Curves.
- Enhance benchmarking data reliability through improved cost accuracy and analysis.
- Introduce industry best practices such as earned value management, reporting dashboards, and cost control systems.
- Collaborate with the central Project Services team to ensure governance strategies are fit-for-purpose.

What do you bring?

- Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Business Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years' relevant experience in project controls, cost control, project or construction management, commercial/contracts, estimating, engineering, or quantity surveying.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with a proven ability to prepare clear and concise reports, procedures, project communication plans, recommendations, and proposals.
- Project Controls Expertise: Highly developed skills in interpreting project objectives, schedules, risk management strategies, and cost management frameworks.
- Extensive experience managing construction activities on medium to large-scale infrastructure projects, with a focus on meeting safety, quality, schedule, and budget requirements.
- Excellent computer skills specifically in MS Project and Primavera P6 planning tools.
- Proven ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to analyse project performance and support effective decision‑making.
- Skilled in coaching, mentoring,



and developing high‑performing teams.
- Proven experience in the management, cost control, and delivery of large-scale projects across all phases of the project lifecycle.
- Proficiency in Power BI for data analysis and reporting.
- Strong background in Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) within the resources sector.
- Experience working with Tier 1 contractors on major infrastructure or energy projects
