The ideal candidate will support the full scope of Human Resources responsibilities and partner with the organization on strategic initiatives. They will maintain and enhance the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating human resources policies, programs, and practices.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Operations Director you will have the opportunity to assess where we are today, identify what needs to improve and turn those opportunities into practical solutions.
Your focus will include:
- Developing and delivering people and workforce strategy aligned with business growth.
- Leading workforce planning, organisational capability and succession planning.
- Building leadership capability through coaching, performance and development.
- Owning end-to-end recruitment, including direct sourcing and building talent pipelines.
- Leading employee relations, performance, investigations and organisational change matters.
- Driving engagement, wellbeing, inclusion and Respect at Work initiatives.
- Strengthening HR systems, processes, reporting and the use of HiBob.
- Leading the HR Officer while remaining actively involved in core HR delivery.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who brings both strong HR capability and the energy to create momentum.
You will ideally have:
- 6-8+ years' broad HR or People & Culture experience, including senior advisory or management experience.
- Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation, the NES and modern awards.
- Strong employee relations and performance management capability.
- Demonstrated end-to-end recruitment experience, including direct sourcing.
- Confidence partnering with,
coaching and constructively challenging senior leaders.
- Strong commercial judgement and an understanding of how people decisions impact business performance.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a genuine interest in building better ways of working.
Experience in construction, engineering or another operational/project-based environment will be highly regarded.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or relevant experience
- 5+ years' experience in Human Resources
- Strong recruiting and demonstrated ability to improve talent acquisition strategies
- Demonstrated expertise training managers and employees
- Strong organizational, critical thinking and communications skills
- Attention to detail and good judgement
