We're looking for a detail-oriented and organized Electrical Project Manager to join our growing team in Kingston, WA or Alcoa, TN. This is an in-office position, not a remote or hybrid role, based at our operations facility. ABOUT THE POSITION

As an Electrical Project Manager, you will own the procurement and technical verification of medium- and high-voltage electrical equipment for shore power systems, ensuring switchgear, transformers, cable, and connection equipment arrive built to specification and perform as designed. You will also provide technical expertise and project management to ensure shore power projects are completed on time and on budget, resulting in excellent customer satisfaction. This role manages the current new system project deck as well as providing technical input for various smaller projects. This role will assist in maintaining the standards library and project management process, and prepare project reports, estimates, and necessary documentation to ensure project expectations and contractual obligations are met.

This role requires robust organizational skills, proficiency with budget numbers and software, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to accuracy and customer satisfaction.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Organize and manage multiple projects, prioritizing tasks and requests in the company’s best interest
- Oversee technical purchase specifications and PO exhibits for MV/HV switchgear, transformers, relays, and cable
- Review and approve vendor submittals, drawings, and vendor data packages; manage deviation and clarification logs,



and ensure field personnel are working from the correct approved drawings
- Witness and sign off factory acceptance testing (FAT) at supplier facilities; verify test reports against specification
- Expedite long-lead equipment and manage supplier performance, compliance, and adherence to committed delivery dates
- Coordinate international freight, customs, and Incoterms for equipment
- Verify equipment as-delivered conforms to the approved design before it goes to site
- Manage spares lists, O&M; manual turnover, and warranty documentation from vendors; track and close warranty items through resolution
- Oversee and direct third-party testing agencies through the commissioning plans, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and test procedures for each deployment
- Oversee site acceptance testing (SAT) and pre-functional and functional testing
- Lead first energization and initial ship-to-shore connection trials
- Track and close commissioning deficiencies through to resolution
- Verify system performance against IEC/IEEE 80005-1 before turnover
- Assemble the commissioning package and hand the system over to Operations
- Coordinate the various partners and stakeholders throughout the project
- Measure project performance, cost, and hours throughout the project duration
- Generate and maintain the project schedule and milestones to meet or exceed contractual requirements, establishing the work plan for each phase and assigning project personnel
- Assist with the design of new electrical projects and problem-solve current electrical equipment at various company sites
- Manage corporate and contractual documents, ensuring Watts Marine rights are protected
- Prepare bills of material and scope of work documents for subcontractors and suppliers
- Maintain and enhance customer relationships and generate new opportunities
- Generate estimates, establish project budgets, and prepare and submit proposals
- Monitor and enforce company safety policies and practices on all projects
- Ensure all permitting requirements are met
- Evaluate completed projects for areas of improvement





WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent on-the-job electrical experience
- 3+ years’ project management experience
- 2+ years’ experience related to electric utility automation or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 4+ years’ experience directly related to electrical engineering or equivalent field
- Strong ability to learn and implement new software quickly
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, database entry, and project management tools

Preferred Qualifications

- Ability to read and technically evaluate one-line diagrams, equipment specifications, and vendor submittals, and defend a position with a supplier's engineering team
- Direct experience with medium and high voltage equipment (1 kV and above): switchgear, transformers, protective relays, or MV cable
- Factory acceptance testing and vendor quality experience
- Working knowledge of IEEE/IEC standards and NFPA 70E
- Background as an owner's engineer, utility, OEM, or EPC equipment or package manager. This is not an IT, software, or general supply chain procurement role
- Direct experience coordinating the commissioning of medium or high voltage systems: substation, switchgear, or industrial power distribution
- Experience directing third-party testing agencies and reviewing their test reports critically
- IEC/IEEE 80005-1 familiarity strongly preferred
- Familiarity with utility-grade electrical equipment, substation equipment, and comparable automation systems
- Approximately 25% travel to port locations is required. This is a 100% in-office position ; it is not a remote or hybrid role.
