In this role, you'll:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Business Analyst, Transition Operations with a demonstrated track record of delivering business analysis outcomes within large-scale transition, transformation, or migration programs. You will be responsible for analysing current and future state business processes, identifying operational and business impacts arising from transition activities, and ensuring business requirements are effectively translated into practical solutions.
You will also play a key role in transition planning activities, including cutover and deployment planning, operational readiness assessments, data migration impact analysis, and stakeholder engagement across business and technical teams.
This role reports into a Senior Manager within the ONG (Opal Next Gen) Technology Program.
The Opal Next Gen program refers to the full modernisation of the Opal ticketing system to deliver smarter, digital-first, integrated public transport across NSW.
For you to be successful within this role you should meet with all, or most of the following criteria:
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience within large scale transition, transformation, and/or migration programs
- Demonstrated expertise in business process analysis, requirements management, stakeholder engagement, and operational readiness, supported by the development of key business analysis artefacts including process maps, business rules, user stories, use cases, requirements documentation, and functional specifications
- Ability to confidently engage, challenge, and influence stakeholders to elicit requirements, resolve issues, and drive successful outcomes
Nice to Haves:
- Experience working within ticketing operations, transport systems, or other high-volume customer facing operational environments
- Experience developing a Concept of Operations (ConOps)
- E xperience using Jama Connect to capture, manage and maintain end-to-end traceability of business and system requirements throughout the project lifecycle
- Relevant tertiary qualification and/or industry-recognised certifications in business analysis, project management or a related discipline
- Experience using Signavio or similar business process management and process modelling tools
This is afixed term opportunity until 31 December 2027 .
This role is based in a hybrid environment, with 50% of your time spent in the office. You will typically work five days per month from our CBD office and a further five days from our Macquarie Park office location. To support team collaboration though, you will be based in the CBD office every Monday , and Macquarie Parkoffice every Thursday.
This is a Grade 9 role, paying between$ 163,145.00 - $182,721.00 + super . The grade level will be assessed based on your relevant skills, experiences, capabilities, and qualifications etc.
