Full time Griffith, NSW Farm Asset Management

Australian agriculture is entering its biggest growth phase in a generation, and our client is right at the centre of it. They’re one of Australia's leading agricultural asset managers, overseeing more than $750 million in farmland across the country, and are looking for an Area Manager to lead the charge on the ground in their Griffith operations.

This is a genuine leadership role. You'll take strategic and operational ownership of a diverse portfolio of agricultural resources, support a team of Farm Managers and support staff, and play a direct hand in shaping the future of some of the country's most productive farming country.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Area Manager is responsible for the strategic direction, operational performance and continuous improvement of the agricultural resources under their management. You'll set the pace for your farms, back your Farm Managers to deliver, and make sure every operation runs safely, sustainably and profitably.

What You'll Be Doing:

- Setting and driving the annual business plan and budget for each farm, in step with the executive team and investor expectations.
- Owning operational cost control and financial performance across your portfolio.
- Leading, developing and holding accountable a team of Farm Managers, Farm Administration Assistants and Farm Analysts.
- Building and managing relationships with contractors, suppliers, investors and the local community.

- Negotiating commercial contracts that protect the company’s interests and hold external parties to account.
- Driving continuous improvement across people, infrastructure and production, including best practice programmes, soil health and carbon assessment.
- Championing a people first culture in line with the WHS and Fair Work Acts.
- Reporting accurately and on time to investors and the executive team.

What You'll Bring:

- A degree in agriculture, management or a related discipline.
- Proven experience mentoring and directing Farm Managers and supervisors to deliver robust operational outcomes.
- A high level of knowledge of agricultural operations, cropping and harvesting.
- A solid understanding of the WHS Act, the Fair Work Act and how they apply on farm.
- Strong business planning, budgeting and reporting skills.
- The ability to build lasting relationships with suppliers, regulators, investors and clients.
- A current open driver's licence.

About Our Client

Our client was founded in 2008 by two industry stalwarts with a combined 70 plus years in Australian agriculture, and they’ve grown into one of the country's most respected rural asset managers. They back their people the same way they back their farms: with investment, trust and room to grow.

You’ll join a team that takes agriculture seriously, values initiative and accountability, and genuinely looks out for one another.

Ready to Lead the Way?

If you're ready to take on a leadership role with real scope, real impact and real backing, we'd love to hear from you.
