You will run legal operations projects end to end for the firm's clients: the operating model, the processes, the resourcing, and the technology and AI sitting underneath. Because it is advisory work, the brief changes with each client rather than staying inside one legal function.

The client is a global law firm with a substantial Australian practice, hiring into its legal operations advisory team. The AI work here is what the practice takes to clients, not an internal pilot.

The essentials

- 12 month maximum term contract, covering parental leave
- Full time, hybrid, 3 days a week in the office
- Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane

What you'll do

- Advise senior people in corporate legal functions across all aspects of the legal operating model, including how they adopt technology and AI
- Act as day-to-day lead on client engagements, driving scoping, planning and execution
- Design and facilitate workshops that turn complex ideas into something a client can act on
- Build and own client-facing solutions and tools, and track what is actually happening with AI in legal
- Support pipeline growth by identifying opportunities and contributing to proposals
- Provide day-to-day direction to the Senior Analyst on client projects





What you'll need

- At least 5 years' related experience, with relevant experience in legal operations and transformation
- A track record of managing consultative projects across the full lifecycle: assessment, design and implementation
- Legal operating model design, process improvement and resourcing strategy
- A solid understanding of the legal technology landscape, including AI
- Change management and design thinking
- Strong data handling and the ability to present insights, including PowerBI and Visio
- Communication skills solid enough to influence senior stakeholders and produce client-facing material

Nice to have

- Hands-on experience building AI-enabled tools and solutions, whether with Copilot, Claude, Harvey, Legora or similar
- Legal engineering, automation or digital solution development
- PMP or Change Management Practitioner certification
- Experience developing and mentoring junior colleagues
